I picked this up because I loved the minimalist design of the packaging and am always interested in trying new roasters, especially out of Japan, which you don't see that often in the US. I was equally intrigued by the description:

Pourover | Whole Bean

I picked this up because I loved the minimalist design of the packaging and am always interested in trying new roasters, especially out of Japan, which you don’t see that often in the US. I was equally intrigued by the description: “Floral aroma, taste of peach, black cherry and citrus, browned caramel-like sweetness and accompanying aftertaste.” I didn’t pick up many, if any, of those notes, however, using my usual iced pourover recipe. The beans themselves had an acrid smell, and tasted like it, too. It was also too acidic, lacking sweetness and feeling imbalanced. Decaf is hard to get right. I’ll try it as a hot pour over and see if it fares any better.
