I've tried a French Press a few times (and maybe I'm just not making it correctly) but the coffee always tasted too strong and a touch bitter for my liking. My preferred coffee brewing method is a Chemex pour-over as I feel it makes a more mellowed cup of coffee where the flavors are balanced and I'm able to taste all the subtle nuances of the blend. As an added bonus, the actual act of a pour-over is almost therapeutic in a way, requiring me to take a few minutes to stop and smell the coffee while watching the water dance over the grounds as they produce the beautiful bronze nectar below.
